Silver Fishing Trips on the Kenai River
Silver Salmon fishing in Alaska is a First Class experience. Here on the Kenai Peninsula, we don’t just receive one run of Silvers, but two distinctly different Coho runs. The first run usually peaks in Mid to Late August, these Silver Salmon range from 8-12 lbs with some Coho tipping the scale up to 15 lbs and above. This makes Silver Fishing an absolute blast for all types of Anglers.
Then comes Fall time in Alaska, which welcomes round two of our Kenai River Silver Salmon (Coho). The summer is over, the mornings start dark again and only a few cars are at the boat launch, which means Silver Salmon Run number Two is peaking, certainly it’s September. These Coho can be significantly larger than the first run in August. However, can be a difficult task bringing these aggressive, determined line-busting Second Run Silver Salmon, to the net.

Kasilof River Drift Boat
A Kasilof river float is the Alaska fishing adventure that many Alaska travelers don’t get the opportunity to experience. Furthermore, many guides just offer the Kenai river for Silver salmon (Coho), Kenai Drift Anglers offers both rivers for our guest. We love the Kasilof river for Silvers, because some guest are looking for that quite, peaceful, human-powered drift boat experience. At times, the Kasilof river can produce incredible silver fishing opportunities.
The Kasilof river has higher turbidity levels than the Kenai river (Milky) water. Meaning, we often are targeting silver salmon in 2-4ft of water, they don’t see us coming. Surprisingly, not many guide services offer the Kasilof river floats on the Kenai Peninsula for Silver Salmon. Additionally, when the Silver fishing is good the Kasilof river is without a doubt world-class fishing entertainment. The techniques we have crafted for silver salmon on the Kasilof river are appealing to all types of anglers.
